First steel for the Dogger Bank A platform was cut on 7 August, at Deeline’s yard in Thailand. Deeline is Aibel’s subcontractor and the former’s yard is near Aibel’s Laem Chabang yard. Both Deeline and Aibel have upgraded their facilities for the project. This includes a new 112,000-square-meter assembly area with three new halls for painting, sand blasting and surface treatment at the Laem Chabang yard; and a new 120 meters by 30 meters hall with a large steel plate panel line at Deeline’s yard.

The Dogger Bank A platform will be delivered from Thailand in spring 2022, and will head to Aibel in Haugesund for installation of high voltage equipment. In late spring 2023, the platform will be installed and put into production at the Dogger Bank offshore wind farm in the UK part of the North Sea.
