MISC is about to conclude a tender for a seawater treatment and injection (SWTI) package for Mero 3 FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading) vessel under its EPCI contract with Petrobras off Brazil, according to sources monitoring the project.

Sources say award may take place soon, possibly within a couple of weeks. The Mero 3 SWTI system is thought to be similar to that of FPSO Anna Nery which was awarded to Yinson which later awarded the SWTI system to Veolia in late 2020. The Anna Nery SWTI system is provided over two integrated process modules and will deliver 38,000 cbm per day of treated seawater for enhanced oil recovery waterflood injection. It is understood winner of the Mero 3 SWTI system will likely engage yards in China to fabricate the module.
