Floatel International has been awarded a contract by INPEX to provide accommodation and related services at its Ichthys field, offshore Western Australia.

The contractor will mobilize Floatel Triumph for the scope of work which is scheduled to start in mid-2022 for a duration of approximately two months.

This is the fifth accommodation contract granted to Floatel since the end of May 2021 for the use of its DP3 accommodation semi Floatel Triumph. Recent awards include Shell’s accommodation support contract at the Malampaya Shallow Water Platform project, offshore the Philippines, starting in September 2021 for a duration of three months. Then, Ørsted granted Floatel with its first renewables contract to provide support at the Changhua 1 & 2a wind farms, offshore Taiwan. In June, the contractor was awarded a contract by an undisclosed client at an undisclosed location in Asia Pacific for a duration of three to four months starting in the second half of 2022. Floatel also bagged its first contract outside of Asia Pacific for the use of Floatel Triumph as Chevron will require the unit at the Anchor project for a fixed period of either four or five months from the second or third quarter of 2023.
