Greenfield Energy has received the finalized FEED study together with a third-party verification report for a potential oil sands processing plant in Utah, United States. Greenfield Energy is a joint venture venture between TomCo Energy and Valkor. The FEED study was conducted by Crosstrails Engineering and verified by Kahuna Ventures. The proposed plant will be located in Uintah County, where Greenfield Energy is in the process of acquiring Tar Sands Holdings II, which owns a suitable site in the country.

The plant will consist of an initial 5,000 bopd train but configured for possible expansion to 10,000 bopd via a second future train, with a total capital cost for the 5,000 bopd train estimated at USD110 million. The EPC phase is expected to take between 54 and 62 weeks.
